The indications are those of general oral corticosteroid therapy when the parenteral route is necessary due to inability to take oral medication (vomiting, gastric aspiration, altered mental status).

ADULT

  • Major depressive episodes (i.e., characterized).
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorders.
  • Bulimia: as an adjunct to psychotherapy, indicated for the reduction of the frequency of bulimia episodes and vomiting or laxative intake.

CHILDREN AGED 8 AND ABOVE AND ADOLESCENTS

Moderate to severe major depressive episode (i.e., characterized), in case of non-response after 4 to 6 sessions of psychotherapeutic management.
