GYNECOLOGY
DEFINITION
Obstetrics (and gynecology) is dedicated to the health and well-being of women of all ages, whether it be outside of pregnancy, during gestation, or at delivery. To this end, it encompasses several disciplines, including:
- GYNECOLOGY specifically, focuses on the diagnosis and management of conditions of the genital tract and breast, as well as screening for gynecological cancers. It also deals with infertility issues.
- L’OBSTÉTRIQUE deals with the monitoring and progression of pregnancy and childbirth.
