Dietary supplements are concentrated sources of nutrients (vitamins and minerals), substances for nutritional or physiological purposes, or plants and plant preparations intended to address deficiencies in a person's regular diet.
The characteristics of a dietary supplement are :
- It is a concentrated source of nutrients.
- It is often specific to a pathology, situation, or period of life.
- It cannot replace a balanced and varied diet.
- Dosages must be respected to avoid the risk of overdosing.
