Acute sinusitis. Given the microbiological profile of these infections, macrolides are indicated when treatment with beta-lactams is not possible.
Exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.
Community-acquired pneumonia in subjects :
- Without risk factors.
- Without signs of clinical severity.
- In the absence of clinical evidence suggestive of pneumococcal etiology.
- Atypical pneumonia.
- In combination with another antibiotic (amoxicillin or imidazole) and an antisecretory agent, eradication of Helicobacter pylori in cases of gastroduodenal ulcer disease (after endoscopic evidence of the lesion and infection).
- In combination, curative treatment of Mycobacterium avium infections in HIVinfected patients.
